New Education & Outreach Director!
Janesville Performing Arts Center Tags Suzy Baldwin to be its next Education/Outreach Director
Janesville, WI— The Janesville Performing Arts Center (JPAC) is excited to announce that Suzy Baldwin (Bakke) will be joining the PAC team as JPAC’s Education/Outreach Director. Baldwin, a 2005 graduate from Craig High School is returning to Janesville after leading other successful education programs in Memphis, TN and Madison, WI. Most notably, Suzy has served as the Director of Programming and Marketing for the Monroe Street Arts Center in Madison where she led a team of 40+ musicians and artists and developed curriculum for classes and workshops for thousands of students. “Growing up doing theater in Janesville shaped me into the person I am today. JPAC wasn’t completed until after I graduated, and now to have the opportunity to help teach, encourage, and foster new talent in such a historic space is thrilling! I am so excited to be joining a team that is committed to keeping creativity alive and thriving in this community.” Says Baldwin. Executive Director Nathan Burkart is excited for JPAC to be bring Baldwin back to Janesville to assume this position. “JPAC is fortunate to bring home an incredible talent to this community that has a firm understanding of how special our community is. She is a biproduct of the performing arts scene, having grown up doing theatre/music in this community. She has become an impressive artistic leader and is a true representation of what programs like JPAC can do for someone’s life.” Says Burkart. Baldwin will be officially joining the team in September where she will help steer a program that has helped JPAC grow by over 150% in impact since 2016. JPAC’s Education/Outreach Department provides performance opportunities for students of all ages through community theatre, workshops, classes, and the visual arts. “We are confident that Suzy will continue to facilitate this growth through new ideas that are inspired by the successes we have had over the past few years and ones she has had while working for past organizations. We are fortunate to have her on the team.” Said Burkart. The Janesville Performing Arts Center serves the greater Rock County area through performances and events produced by JPAC and local non-profit arts groups. The center’s 637 seat theatre, lobby, art gallery, box office, and administrative office are located in the historic Janesville High School/Marshall Junior High School building in downtown Janesville.
